Morning cold snap to get eased _ 020119

Good morning, most areas had a freezing morning on this first day of February. For many inland areas, there's a cold wave advisory in effect.

But the cold snap will be short-lived and will ease as the day goes on. Readings will be right back up to seasonal norms by the afternoon under plenty of sunshine in most areas along with decent air quality.

However, the sudden drop in temperature can make you vulnerable to cold and flu. So, drink warm fluids and bundle up to stay warm. The last thing we would want is to have to stay in bed during the 3-day Lunar New Year holiday fighting a virus.

In fact, the weather is looking optimal for the holiday -- no bone-chilling cold or snow. Next Monday is Ipchun, the traditional start of spring, so it's probably safe to say the coldest part of winter has passed.

That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
