Meet some America's “swingers,” people who voted for Obama and then voted for Trump. Here's why they helped flip a key swing state from blue to red in their own words.
These swing state voters, who once voted democrat and leaned toward liberal candidates, chose to vote more conservatively in the 2016 presidential election, by voting to elect Republican candidate Donald Trump for President of the United States.
These Pennsylvania voters — are “swingers,” who once voted for President Barack Obama but voted for Donald Trump, against Hillary Clinton, as the 45th President of the U.S. making Pennsylvania a pivotal swing state in the last U.S. presidential election.
We first spoke with our “swingers” in March 2017, toward the beginning of the Trump presidency. We filmed them watching the news and reacting to issues that were important to them. We then followed up again in 2018, 16 months later, to ask them how they are feeling about their decision to vote Trump into office.
