Animals can bring us so much joy and happiness and even be the best form of medicine. Brittney Thomason had an extremely negative reaction to a flu shot when she was 15 years old that left her in a coma for eight days. Since then, Brittney's had more than 60 surgeries and has been battling health issues for 10 years. She loves horses though, and for a birthday present one year, she went on a horseback ride which actually helped to "wake up" her digestive track. When her family decided to get her a therapy horse however, they ran into multiple problems including a horse that was not properly broken in, one with arthritis and another that was pregnant.
Brittney had pretty much resigned herself to never getting that special horse she'd always dreamed about when she got the surprise of a lifetime. Sunny, an old racing horse, needed a new home, and Brittney's mom Stacy told the pair selling the horse, Samantha and Jeri Sherry, all about of Brittney's struggles. A man named Mike McCoulgh offered to drive the horse to a closer location for Brittney's parents Stacy and Robert to pick it up and then came the magical moment Brittney met Sunny for the first time. She joins RTM now by Skype to share her amazing story.
