Gov't to temporarily close old coal-fired power plants to improve air quality

The South Korean government this year will be temporarily shutting down some old coal-fired power plants to help clean up the country's air, which has been clogged lately with fine dust pollution.
President Moon's chief of policy, Kim Soo-hyun, said Sunday that the plants will be shut down between March and June,... one of several measures being considered to deal with the fine dust.
The policy chief also addressed the issue of soaring home prices.
He said the government will take yet more steps, without delay, to stabilize them if need be.
It will also expand welfare support linked to housing.
Home prices, he said, are not yet as stable as the administration would like.
