There's a possiblity that the U.S. tariffs on Korean steel and aluminum announced by the Trump administration last March, for national security reasons,... will be lowered.
A preliminary decision by the U.S. Court of International Trade released last week... challenged the 76-percent anti-dumping duties imposed by the commerce department... on oil country tubular goods from Korea.
Those duties, on top of an import quota, were expected to heavily restrain Korean steel pipe exports to the U.S.
The court said the commerce department's claim that a so-called "particular market situation" existed with respect to Korean steel -- that its price was distorted -- was not justified.
