http://www.witron.de/en A.T.U, Germany’s largest car workshop chain, supplies approx. 300 workshops with more than 40,000 different items from its distribution center in Weiden. WITRON received the order for the modernization of the pallet stacker cranes including control technology. The replacement comprises 16 stacker cranes that have been in continuous use since 1996. A roof opening of only 10 square meters is used for dismantling and installation works. The realization will be done successively – aisle by aisle – during ongoing operation. Once a stacker crane has been replaced, the stacker crane exchange starts in the next aisle. A 300-ton special assembly crane is used for removing the old stacker cranes and installing the new ones.
