Dozens of men rode horses through a bonfire in the small Spanish village of San Bartolome de Pinares in the northwest of Madrid. The event was held in honour of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of animals. The age-old tradition, called ‘Luminarias', dates back over 500 years, and is believed to purify and protect the animal from diseases in the coming year.
