Horrifying footage shows the moment a king cobra conquered a python, and then swallowed it whole in front of shocked tourists.
The predators were seen locked in an agonising battle next to the Lam Pee Waterfall in Phang Nga Province, Thailand on December 23.
While the python tried to wrap itself around the cobra to strangle it, the attack quickly backfired.
The cobra reared up and bit the python on the neck. Blood was seen dripping from the python's mouth as it succumbed to the injuries.
The constrictor was soon immobilised by its rival's deadly venom and was swallowed whole by the dark black cobra.
An astonished British tourist can be heard in background saying: ''Look at the size of this. How lucky are we?''
The woman then asks: ''Should this snake be dead?'', before her partner adds ''It's probably dead now, love.''
Wildlife ranger Chachai Chamnikarn, who was taking the holidaymakers on a tour around the Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park, said: ''I always explore around this area. I have seen snakes eat small and big animals but never their own kind.
''Actually, I was actually lucky to see something like this. I considered this the natural act which showed the animal’s struggle to survive.''
