Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took another jab at President Trump on Monday.
Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Monday offered her theory on why President Trump has not made his taxes available to the public. "I'd say we'd be taxing 70% of Trump's income, but he probably hasn't made more than $10 million in years - and that's the real reason he's hiding his taxes," she said via Twitter. Ocasio-Cortez was referencing a proposed tax plan that would tax income over the $10 million threshold at a higher rate. She was also, of course, making note of Trump's reluctance to release his tax returns. Trump is the first president in decades to not volunteer the information, saying his returns are under audit, notes the Washington Post. Notably, there is no law that prohibits returns under review from being shared. Tax documents aren't the only Trump-related issue Ocasio-Cortez has commented upon. In a recent interview with Anderson Cooper for CBS' "60 Minutes, she was asked, "Do you believe President Trump is a racist?" She replied: "Yeah, yeah, no question."
