According to the Virginia Lottery, Carrie Walls' ticket was one of the 554,000 entries drawn in the Ford Expedition Plus $100K Promotion. The lottery reports that when she went to the dealership to pick up the keys to her car and a $100,000 check, she said, "I cried. I couldn't believe it." Walls also mentioned that the money was incredibly timely as her husband is among those furloughed in the federal government shutdown.
