Hiking the Inca trails has been a goal of mine for a while. To have the experience I only can imagine how the ancient peoples of the area must have had. If you are a hiker like us I recommend these trails. The most beautiful places can be discovered hidden between the thick forest. The views from certain peaks can only be describe by some of the greatest writers whom haven't been born yet. Meaning they will blow your mind.

One of Passport's Bed and Breakfast's main missions is explore places less traveled to bringing it to the world. You probably heard of Macchu Picchu and the Inca trails. The Inca trails spread vast and further than most people think. In fact, the Inca trail in total is nearly 40,000 km from Quito Ecuador to Santiago Chile. The Inca empire was larger than the average person may know. Did you know that? I didn't until I came to Peru. This is why we think traveling is the best education there is. Through traveling and expedition you really get to see what you know and what you are made of. I suggest that we all challenge what we think we know. How else would you know if its truth and you never put it to the test.

The Inca empire was very vast and used these trails to move around their empire very quickly. The trails drastically cut down travel times. It was said that the Incas had stations along the trails with runners that could cover thousands of miles in a couple of days. Their job was to deliver messages through out the empire. This is very impressive considering the fact I fell several times just walking on the trails. LOL The Spanish had found it very difficult to navigate through the trails because of their horses.

One thing is for sure if you're looking for a way to get into shape, you should try to navigate through these trails. Some of the trails are extremely high and can be difficult to breath. The good benefit is you can gain a lot more new red blood cells. If you're not the serious trainer its totally fine because at these altitude everything is a work out. I can only imagine the people of the ancient world must have been in Superior shape in relation to our current state. We have been living and hiking these trails for five months. We can notice a big difference in our over all health.
