Remembering David Robert Jones, also known as David Bowie, was born on January 8, 1947. The late English singer
passed on January 10, 2016,
at the age of 69. He was born in Brixton, London. The influential musician is one of the world’s best selling artists and sold an estimated
140 million albums worldwide
throughout his career. His 1969 single, “Space Oddity,” was his debut hit on the UK Chart. Bowie later had major success
with his breakthrough U.S.
crossover hit, “Fame.” He was known for experimenting with his music, style and his alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. He has acted in numerous films such as ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth,’ ’Labyrinth’ and many more. Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. He released his final
album, ‘Blackstar,’ in
