Rather dusty day in most parts _ 010719

The picture next to me was taken yesterday at Haeundae beach in Busan... where nearly 4,000 people attended the Haeundae Polar Bear Festival.

According to the traditional calendar, yesterday was Sohan, which is supposed to be one of the coldest days of the year, but temperatures weren't too bad, in fact, temperatures for today will be also bearable, staying in positive territory. But expect to see a big drop in temperatures again on Wednesday.

In terms of air quality, stagnant air flow and smog from China will increase ultra fine dust levels. Most areas are likely to see polluted air by the afternoon so check the levels before heading out.

Meanwhile, dry weather continues to grip the Korean Peninsula, Seoul is now under a dry weather advisory... and dry weather alerts have been in place for more than 25 days across the country... a humidifier should be a welcome addition to any room at home or in the office.

There'll be sunny skies with a few clouds. Daily highs will be similar to yesterday, getting up to 2 degrees Celsius in Seoul, 5 degrees in Daegu, and 3 degrees in Chuncheon.
