Panasonic Toyota Racing is based in Germany but with its parent company originating from Japan the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix is a special event for the team. The bond between Japan and the team has been strengthened in recent years with the increased adoption of the ‘Toyota Way’ across departments back at base in Cologne, Germany. Following the ‘Toyota Way’ principles, Panasonic Toyota Racing has returned to form this season – finishing on the podium twice and pushing to take fourth in the Constructors’ Championship. In addition, Panasonic Toyota Racing also has a rising Japanese star in the cockpit in the shape of third driver Kamui Kobayashi, who has won races in GP2 Asia and GP2 Series this season.
