Comey Slams Trump: Resignations 'Must Be Confusing' For President 'Without Any External Ethical Framework'

James Comey again slammed President Trump on Twitter.

Former FBI director James Comey blasted President Trump after the resignations of Defense Secretary James Mattis and top U.S. envoy in the fight against ISIS, Brett McGurk.
Comey tweeted Saturday: "To a president without any external ethical framework, folks who resign on principle must be confusing."
The tweet came soon after Mattis and McGurk separately announced they would be leaving the administration in the wake of the president's somewhat unexpected decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria.
According to the Washington Post, "Both Mattis and McGurk objected to what they saw as a shortsighted decision and a breach of faith with U.S. allies including the Syrian Kurds, who fought alongside U.S. forces in Syria and now face a dangerous and uncertain future."
Trump has since spoken out about both men.
"Brett McGurk, who I do not know, was appointed by President Obama in 2015. Was supposed to leave in February but he just resigned prior to leaving. Grandstander? The Fake News is making such a big deal about this nothing event!" Trump tweeted Saturday.
And in another tweet, he wrote: "When President Obama ingloriously fired Jim Mattis, I gave him a second chance. Some thought I shouldn't, I thought I should. Interesting relationship-but I also gave all of the resources that he never really had. Allies are very important-but not when they take advantage of U.S."
