Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's wife, Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali paid a visit to the National Heart Institute (IJN) earlier today, to personally get an update on the condition of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, the firefighter who was severely injured after being attacked by a mob in last month's Seafield temple riots.
She spent about 45 minutes at the hospital in what's believed to be a surprise visit, and left quietly without the knowledge of the media, who have been waiting since early this morning.
Yesterday, IJN released a statement saying that Adib is back on respiratory support due to a deterioration in his condition, adding that he continues to require dialysis as his renal function has not improved.
This comes less than a week after he was taken off the ventilator upon showing signs of improvement.
