To the delight of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the US farm bill has just legalized hemp.
According to Business Insider, hemp has long been outlawed due to its classification as a drug, like marijuana.
However, the plant can be used for hundreds, if not thousands, of industrial applications.
Its cultivation could benefit agricultural states, such as Kentucky, which is struggling to replace tobacco.
