Time magazine has named a group of journalists targeted for their work as this year's "Person of the Year."
The magazine called them "The Guardians", which includes Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post columnist who was killed in the Saudi embassy in Turkey.
Others include staff from the Capital Gazette, the American newspaper where five people were killed.
It marks the first time for the magazine to name someone who is no longer alive as Person of the Year.
Maria Ressa, a Filipino journalist and outspoken critic of President Rodrigo Duterte is also on the list, as are two Reuters journalists being detained in Myanmar for their reporting on the massacre of Rohingya Muslims.
