With the Avon being out-of-sorts for the previous few sessions I decided to drop back into the section at the top of the stretch, near the weir.
I would have a hour or two after a nice perch, until darkness fell. If the river seemed on form I'd then stay after dark and put the leger rods out for a chub or elusive (this season) barbel.
