With realistically only an hour or so to spare (but we all know that means two!) I headed for the closest stretch of the Avon to my house, realising that every minute spent walking was a minute without a bait in the water.
I have only fished this swim once before, a couple of seasons ago, with only chublets being banked. However, this evening would supply a few pleasant surprises.
