My fractured journey through the world of music began with a training in classical lndian music ' Ragh pradhan' and 'puratani songs under my first teacher Late MNIDRA CHARABORTY. lt was under him that learnt the basics and trained myself in singing for about five years and a half. This period learning left such a great impression on me as I remained in the field all of my life.
After I had,I finished my training under my first teacher I felt attracted to the creation of great personality, Late HEMANGO BISWAS. I heard him on a number of occasions and felt drawn towards him and his philosophy of music. Under him I treant that music was a mix of sound,notes, codes,tal and emotion of speak acommon language of music that everyone understands. he formed a group naimed 'MASS SINGERS' and offered me the opportunity to be one of the lead singers in the group. that happened during 1972-73.From then on I remained amember of the group until now. I consider myself a disciple of Hemango Biswas the great motivetor, a generous mentor and a wonderful teacher.
It was only thirty year after Hemangoda's demise that I Published my first album of Loksongeet 'BONDHU BINE PRAN BANCHENA'.Innomerable friends of mine help me in this endeavour.I remain thankful to sri Suman chattopadhay, the proprietor of 'COZMIK HARMONY'. Some of my friends extended immense help in publication of the album.I must thanks Neelotpol chakraborty(Arrenger), Sankar saha(Bangla dhol,Tabla), Mrityunjoy Pathak( Dholok),Buro(Octopad),Makhan/Deep( key board),Chotka and Goutam( sound and mixing).the photo printed on the cover of the album is due to Rishi koushik( Actor).
