President Trump recently boasted about New York City blocking off a bigger section for him than it did for former President Barack Obama.  The comment was made in an interview with the New York Post and as part of a discussion about why he's largely stayed away from the city since taking office.
"They close down the city. I feel guilty because I remember when Obama would come in I'd say [why] the hell is he coming. He'd come in. The traffic. With me, it's even worse. They close down an even bigger section. So that's the reason I do that," Trump said. It's not the first time he is taking a swipe at Obama. In addition to his campaign to delegitimize Obama's presidency by insisting that the leader was not born in the United States, Trump has called his predecessor a "disaster" and "the founder of ISIS."  While the former president has largely refrained from calling out Trump by name, he did recently warn of "demagogues promising simple fixes," and, in advance of the midterm elections, said, "You need to vote because our democracy depends on it." Notably, Obama was much more direct before Trump became a political figure. At the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner, Obama made a number of jokes about Trump, touching on topics that ranged from his reality TV show to his political aspirations.
