Here’s something to make fans of “The Lion King” roar with excitement.
Disney released the first trailer for its upcoming live-action and CGI remake of the classic animated movie, and it features some of the most iconic lines and visuals from the original flick.
“A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun,” intones actor James Earl Jones, who reprises his role of Mufasa. “One day, the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king.”
The minute-and-a-half-long trailer then shows Rafiki marking Simba’s forehead with red paint before holding him up in front of the animal kingdom, recreating a classic moment from the 1994 original.
Donald Glover voices Simba in the highly anticipated new movie, which is due for theaters on July 19, 2019. Beyoncé voices Nala, while Chiwetel Ejiofor takes on the role of Scar.
Other members of the star-studded cast include Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon) and John Oliver (Zazu).
