Chicken Hariyali is a green chicken curry recipe made using yogurt, marinated chicken, spices and mint leaves. It is a semi gravy chicken recipe that goes well with Parathas. Do try it at home and share your feedback in the comments below.
Ingredients:
1/2 Kg Chicken, marinated in 1/4 tsp (salt & pepper)
2 tbsp Ghee
Bay leaf
1 Kashmiri Red Chilli
5 Cloves
4 Green Cardamom, seeds
1 tsp Cumin seeds
Pinch of asafoetida
1 Onion, thinly sliced
1 Tomato
2 Cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup Water
1/4 cup Yogurt
1/2 tsp Salt (heaped)
For Paste
2 cups Mint Leaves
1 cup Coriander leaves
Ginger
3 Green Chillies, slit
1 Lemon juice
1/4 tsp Himalayan Black Salt
1 tbsp Water
Method of preparation:
Marinate the chicken in salt and pepper for 30 minutes.
In a vessel, heat ghee, add ghee and let it brown on one side.
Take the chicken out on a plate.
Add bay leaf, kashmiri red chilli, cloves, cardamom, cumin seeds, asafoetida, onion, tomato, cinnamon, paste and cook it.
Add the chicken, give it a good mix.
In the same mixer jar add some water and yoghurt and give it a blend.
Add the mixture to the chicken, give it a good mix, bring it to a slight simmer, cover the pan and let it cook.
Add salt, mix well and our Hariyali Chicken is ready to plate.
For Paste
In a mixer jar add mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, green chillies, lemon juice, black salt, water and grind it to a smooth paste.
Our Hariyali Chicken is ready.
