Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the Republican Conference Chairman, speaks at the Senate Republican Press Conference this afternoon. He spoke about the bailout rescue plan and auto dealers who have turned away one-third of those applying for car loans when the normal rate is less than 20%. Doesn't that indicate they shouldn't have the loans in the first place? With the few changes they have made, it's basically the same bill the house failed to pass with lots of pork and beans added to the bill. We need to work on a solution to this problem, but adding pork to influence votes only hurts us, the taxpayers. The Senate votes tonight on the measure, contact your Senators and urge them to vote against this bill.
