According to the Mother Nature Network, researchers have discovered about 200 million cone-shaped mounds hiding in plain sight within northeastern Brazil. These mounds cover 88,800 square miles of dry tropical forest. These long-standing structures have been built by termites and are still being used by the insects today. According to a report in Current Biology, these immense mounds, are visible from space.
