Trump On Cold Weather Forecast: 'Whatever Happened To Global Warming?'

2018-11-22 12

President Trump on Wednesday asked, "whatever happened to global warming?"

President Trump took to Twitter Wednesday evening and shared his reaction to the bitter cold expected in many parts of the country during the Thanksgiving holiday.

"Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS - Whatever happened to Global Warming?" Trump tweeted.
Critical reactions included, "It's called climate change and 98% of scientists confirm it," and "when you don't know the difference between weather and climate."
The president has long expressed skepticism about climate change, dismissing it in the past as a "hoax."
Back in 2012, Trump tweeted: "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."
In his speech announcing the withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement last year, Trump cited America's self-interest as the primary reason for the decision.
"I can put no other consideration before the wellbeing of American citizens," the president said. "The Paris Climate Accord is simply the latest example of Washington entering into an agreement that disadvantages the United States to the exclusive benefit of other countries, leaving American workers -- who I love -- and taxpayers to absorb the cost in terms of lost jobs, lower wages, shuttered factories, and vastly diminished economic production."
