CHINA — China has significantly ramped up its efforts to steal U.S. technology secrets in the past two years, reports the South China Morning Post.

China has reportedly been hacking anything from commercial technology to intellectual property.

Micron , a U.S. tech company, was targeted by the Chinese, according to Los Angeles Times.

The Chinese reportedly worked with employees of the company to receive trade secrets and stole as much as $8.75 billion in patented U.S. technology.

Apparently, Chinese espionage has risen as President Trump has railed against trade policies with China and imposed tariffs on Chinese products.

U.S. officials say that the Chinese are growing relentless as they recruit executives and engineers to spill trade secrets.

They also rely on an army of domestic hackers to hack digital networks as well as corporate and government emails, according to the South China Morning Post.

According to an FBI special agent, China doesn't mind playing dirty as long as they get what want and they "don't care if they get caught or if people go to jail."
