Advanced robotic technology is bringing robots closer to our everyday life.
Robots developed by Korean researchers can now care for patients and carry out police duties.
Park Se-young has more.
This is a robot caregiver.
It is operated by buttons that patients can press using their cheeks.
The robot's arms feed patients both rice and side dishes.
"Feeding patients can be a burden on both the guardian and volunteers. Specialized actions like feeding or assistance with bathing may be taken over by robots."
This police robot autonomously navigates through the crowd.
By reading different faces, it can spot criminals and report them immediately to the police.
And if there is a terrorist incident, the robot sounds off its alarm.
This robot will be placed as a pilot project at Seoul Station and Dongdaegu Station by the end of October to aid the police with their duties.
"It can help improve the working environment for police officers. Since they're often exposed to danger, robots can replace officers in those situations."
From caring for patients to taking food orders, …robots are taking over a growing number of routine and repetitive tasks.
