In this video I'm soldering up a surface mounted breadboard breakout for an Attiny13a chip. This was mainly a test for etching, but it functions fine. Turned out a bit messy in the end due to me.
Surface mount soldering isn't wildly difficult, at a certain level it's easier than drilling holes, and the components tend to be far cheaper.
Also allows me to make stuff what's nifty, sneaky and small. :)
