On Monday, Harvey Weinstein's lawyers filed a motion to have his five remaining sex crimes charges in New York's Supreme Court dismissed.
In court documents his legals team said the entire case was based on a "defective Grand Jury proceeding."
CNN reports the team contends that the Grand Jury proceedings were "irreparably tainted by police misconduct."
Weinstein's defense attorney Ben Brafman outlined a series of missteps by the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney's office.
