Gun Violence Is Damaging Gen Z's Mental Health Members of Generation Z, those aged 15-21, are among the most
politically active. But it's taking a major toll on their mental health. According to the American Psychological Association, stories of sexual assault and immigration are causing significant distress to Gen Z. The top stressor is school safety in relation to gun violence. 75% said mass shootings are a major source of stress. 72% expressed the same about school shootings. 56% reported feeling anxiety about the possibility of being targeted in a school shooting. On the bright side, Gen Z is more likely to report mental health issues than any other generation. Arthur Evans, CEO, American Psychological Association, via CNN
