Representatives of South Korea's ruling party and the government have discussed ways to stimulate the nation's capital market… by helping innovative companies raise more funds.
At a meeting on Thursday..., the ruling Democratic Party of Korea and the government agreed to increase limits on public offerings with small volumes.
Companies will be able to offer between 2-point-6 million and 8-point-8 million U.S. dollars of stocks depending on the amount they can raise.
This is up from the current 8-hundred-78-thousand dollar limit.
They will also ease regulations on creating private equity funds, and strengthen measures to protect investors.
The government says it will provide a more comprehensive plan by early next year.
