Plane Crash in Indonesia On Monday morning, Lion Air flight JT 610 Authorities believe all
189 onboard are dead. Pilot Bhavye Suneja requested permission from air traffic controllers to return to Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International airport, without indicating there was an emergency. The plane — a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 — was reported to have problems the night before. The issues were “resolved according to procedure,” as stated by to Lion Air CEO Edward Sirait. In a press conference, the search and rescue agency Basarnas confirmed six bodies were recovered from the crash site.
