Amazon to Open 'Go' Store in
San Francisco The online giant's futuristic new cashier-free store will debut in the city’s Financial District. Amazon already has five 'Go' stores in Seattle and Chicago, which sell prepared food and groceries. Cameras and other sensors monitor the items shoppers take, which are charged to their Amazon account. Amazon has said it is looking to open a 'Go' store in
New York City as well. The company is aiming for
3,000 locations by 2021. According to Morgan Stanley, it would have to invest an estimated $500 million to $3 billion for the stores.
