Microsoft Director Allegedly Tried to
Embezzle $1.5 Million Jeff Tran, the tech giant’s former sports marketing director, was charged with five counts of wire fraud. The former executive is accused of sending two fraudulent invoices to Microsoft through other vendors. One of the invoices was for $775,000 and allegedly routed to his bank account. The other invoice for $670,000 was flagged by Microsoft’s vendors, who alerted the company to what
was going on. Trans is also accused of stealing more than 60 Super Bowl tickets from the company that were meant for employees. Wire fraud carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
