Cloudflare providing internet security to Syrian government

SAN FRANCISCO — U.S. internet security company Cloudflare is providing its DDoS services to the Syrian regime.

A DDoS is a distributed denial of service attack where several computers target a network, website or service and cause a disruption or end to its service for its users.

Unless exempt, U.S. persons are generally blocked under Executive Order 13582 from engaging in business with a Syrian state-owned entity.

TomoNews reached out to Cloudflare and the U.S. treasury department for comment but neither got back to us by press time.
