South Koreans are apparently going to the doctor more often than the people of any other country in the OECD -- by a large margin.
Korea's health ministry, together with the national health insurance service, analyzed the data, and in 2016, Koreans went to the doctor an average of 17 times.
In the OECD, that compares to Japan, in a distant second, with 12-point-8 times... and Germany at 10 times.
The countries that went to the doctor the least were Sweden... at 2-point-8 times a year on average... and Mexico at 2-point-9 times.
Now, part of that could be because Koreans also went to the dentist the most often... at an average of 3-point-2 times a year.
But when admitted to a hospital, they also tended to stay for a while -- an average of 18 days -- second only to Japan.
