Search and rescue teams continued their efforts to rescue survivors and remove corpses in Palu, Indonesia, where a 7.5-magnitude earthquake left more than 1,400 dead on September 28.

This video shows structures reduced to rubble as rescuers transport a body bag.

The devastated island was also hit by the eruption of Mount Soputan in the north, sending thick columns of ash and prompting authorities to warn locals to stay away.

Mass burials are underway to mourn the lives lost.
