Pro-independence protesters blocked major roads and train lines in Catalonia today one year after the region's controversial independence referendum.
Footage captured this morning, October 1 in Girona, north of Barcelona, shows a train speeding into a train station as dozens of protesters stand on a railway track.
The train can be seen slowing down to avoid crashing into the crowd.
More protests have been called later today to commemorate the vote which saw a crackdown by Spanish police in which hundreds were injured at polling stations.
