Cristiano Ronaldo has denied as "fake news" accusations of rape made by an American woman.
In an Instagram video, the Juventus and Portuguese footballer said people wanted to be famous by using his name, adding it was all part of the job.
Kathryn Mayorga told Germany's Der Spiegel magazine that Ronaldo raped her in a hotel room in Las Vegas in 2009.
She reportedly reached an out-of-court agreement with the footballer to not go public with the alleged rape for a payment of 375,000 U.S. dollars.
Her lawyers are now seeking to declare the non-disclosure agreement void.
Ronaldo's lawyers said they will sue the magazine to seek compensation for what they called "moral damages."
