Parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York were hit by severe downpours causing flash flooding on Tuesday, September 25, turning roads into rivers during and after the rainstorm.
This video shows vehicles driving on a flooded road after a nearby brook overflowed. The clip was filmed in Hamden, Connecticut, where authorities blocked roads and warned motorists not to drive.
In Fairview, New Jersey, rising floodwaters forced firefighters to rescue more than 100 people from flooded factories.
Rain is forecast to recede midnight, the National Weather Service reported.
