Trucks pushed through significant floodwaters on a highway between the cities of Obregón and Guaymas in Mexico’s Sonora state on September 20 as a tropical storm over the Gulf of California dumped water on the region.

The governor of Sonora declared a state of emergency for thirteen towns due to flooding and high winds. Large areas of the state of Sinaloa, Sonora’s neighbor to the south, were also heavily affected, according to Mexico’s national weather service. Credit: Policía Federal Carreteras via Storyful
