The Aquarius rescue ship recovered 11 people from a small boat in international waters off the Libyan coast on Thursday, September 20, according to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), which operates the boat in partnership with SOS Mediterranee.
MSF and SOS Mediterranee shared footage of the rescue and said the boat was crowded and taking in water when the rescue took place. The 11 passengers, who MSF said were not wearing life jackets, were recovered safely and brought on board the Aquarius ship. Credit: MSF Sea via Storyful
