The US Coast Guard rescued a wounded sea turtle two miles off of Plantation Key in Florida on Tuesday, September 18.
Personnel with Coast Guard Station Islamorada received a call from the Marathon Turtle Hospital reporting an injured sea turtle. The station launched a 24-foot special purpose craft-shallow water boat crew to assist the hospital.
Footage shared Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Lees shows crews pouring water on the loggerhead sea turtle, before transporting it to the Turtle Hospital.
