A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador on Thursday evening, September 6, with the epicenter near the town of Cumanda in Chimborazo province.
Tremors were also felt in Ecuador’s capital, Quito. Social media users reported panic at shopping malls and damage to buildings in different cities.
