The first thing that pops into our mind when we think of fasting is Sabudana Wada. It is a delicious snack that makes fasting interesting. Made by binding potato, sago, chillies and peanut powder together, this is an ideal dish to have while you fast. Do give it a try and share your feedback in the comments below.
Ingredients:
5 Green Chillies
1 inch Ginger
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 cup Sago, soaked
1 cup Peanut powder, roasted
Salt to taste
2-3 tsp Sugar
½ cup Coriander
6 Potatoes, boiled & chopped
For Chutney
1 cup Coconut, grated
1 tsp Sugar
Salt to taste
1 Green Chilli
Ginger
½ tsp Cumin seeds
½ cup Coriander leaves
A cherry sized - Tamarind
Juice of ½ lemon
Water
Method of preparation:
In a mixer jar add chillies, ginger, cumin seeds and grind it coarsely.
In a plate add sago, chilli-ginger-cumin paste, peanut powder, salt, sugar, coriander, potatoes.
Mash the potatoes, mix them well and roll them into nice vadas.
Heat oil in a vessel, fry the vadas untill they are nice a golden brown.
Our Sabudana Vada is ready to eat.
For Chutney
In a mixer jar add coconut, sugar, salt, green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander, tamarind, lemon juice, grind it to a nice chutney.
Add water, and grind well.
Our Chutney is ready to serve.
