SAN BRUNO, CALIFORNIA — Syrian government and state-affiliated channels are still appearing on YouTube.
It's been over two weeks since a TomoNews investigation showed how Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad's official channel was getting advertising from some of the world's biggest brands — including the U.S. President himself.
And yet, despite YouTube terminating the channels we reported about, we've found even more. Why is that a problem?
U.S. sanctions prohibit American companies from providing services to Syria without obtaining a license from the Treasury Department.
