According to Reuters, Tropical Storm Gordon is slamming the Gulf Coast with rough surfing, gusting winds, and heavy rain.
But the tropical storm is expected to become a hurricane before making landfall in Mississippi, as it passes over the Gulf of Mexico.
The storm has also caused global gas prices to rise, as energy companies have cut production in the gulf region.
Forecasters expect Gordon to come ashore on the 4th or 5th of September, near the border between Louisiana and Mississippi.
