D-Day for Malegaon Blast case: Mumbai special court to frame charges

2018-09-05 3

Mumbai special court, hearing the Malegaon 2008 blast case, has decided to go ahead with the framing of charges against the eight accused in the case. This comes after the Bombay high court refused to restrain the trial court from framing the charges against Malegaon blast accused...even the Supreme Court refused to entertain Purohit's application seeking an sit probe. On December 27, 2017, a special nia court had dismissed the pleas filed by Purohit, his co-accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, and six others seeking discharge from the case. The court, however, gave them partial relief by dropping all charges against them under the stringent Maharashtra control of organised crime act.
